How do you change a gas hot water heater thermostat?

Please tell me how to change a gas hot water heater thermostat in detail...

Shut off gas
Disconnect the three lines below it into the burner area.
Shut off water and drain the tank.
Disconnect the gas lines to the therm.
Unscrew the gas valve and replace it.
Reverse order.
Relight
