Testing oil pressure after changing oil filter in Yamaha Vstar 1100 Classic?

I read through the owners manual and completed the oil change/filter change. Do I need to follow the steps to test oil pressure. Something about loosening the rear cylinder intake bolt and starting the bike, if oil seeps out I have oil pressure. Does

Sounds pretty fishy to me. I wouldn't do it.
